| "Attack" is a series
of documentary films about relationships
between humans and Africa's most dangerous
large predators- sharks, crocodiles,
and lions. The films follow a variety
of astonishing characters- free-divers,
surf fanatics, crocodile hunters, lion
wranglers, witchdoctors, and druids
of biology- as they pursue their scientific,
spiritual, material and sometimes just
plain crazy interest in man-eaters.
Each episode of ATTACK! is structured
to present a strong narrative backed
by superb wildlife footage and commentaries
from internationally- recognized scientists.
At the same time, the films retain the
gritty authenticity of Africa's wild
frontiers and even wilder frontiersmen.
Crocodile Attack borrows some of the
subtler horror-movie techniques to create
a gripping new form of wildlife documentary.
While tracking the exploits of a pair
of rugged crocodile hunters who have
been hired to shoot out the man-eaters
on Mozambique's Lusito River, the film
investigates the ancient conflict between
people and "river dragons," with all
its attendant horrors and superstitions.
The Tragedy of the conflict is underscored
by some brilliant sequences on crocodile
behavior - and by strong words from
both Western conservationists and traditional
African Shamen. |
