| In the wilds of Southern
Africa there are remote areas where
the bloodlines of families have been
perpetuated for centuries. Follow the
patterns of life and daily challenges
to survival in two such prides through
the full cycle of an African year. In
the bushveld of South Africa's Kruger
National Park, a young lioness raises
her cubs through a savage drought, teaching
them the skills they still need to survive
when ejected from the pride by a new
allegiance of males. On the remote Savuti
Planis of Northern Botswana, Maome's
pride hunts migrating zebra at night
gaining strength for the long dry season,
and a vicious war with their ever-present,
hated foe, the spotted hyena.
